In contemporary bird-and-flower painting circle, Lv Weichao is one of the rare painters concentrated on animals. He chooses figurative and realistic fine brushwork techniques as well as fierce wild animals which are difficult to capture their images as creation subjects. It is a highly difficult choice but also a challenge on himself.  It can not be denied that Feng Dazhong’s famous fine brushwork tigers in 1980s has made some influence on his choice. He also started from loving tigers, knowing about tigers and painting tigers to finally grasp the profound essence of fine brushwork animals.
